Verduno is a small Langhe town on the Northeast side of the Barolo production area. Compared to other world-known towns as Barolo, it has only recently acquired fame thanks to its peacefulness and increasingly cherished wines.
The Monvigliero vineyard, a real gem, is right opposite to the town of Roddi, whose castle is perfectly visible from our site. The fame of this vineyard is on the rise over the past years – thanks to delicate and elegant wines obtained from it.
Topography & Soil
At 300 metres of altitude, Verduno-Monvigliero is facing East and Southeast. Famous for yielding elegant wines with finesse, the sandy soil of this vineyard resembles our Bricchi Estate. On Verduno-Monvigliero, we grow nebbiolo and pelaverga grapes as well as hazelnuts and lavender.
Planted in 1974 with Nebbiolo for Barolo, our Verduno-Monvigliero vineyard is in excellent condition. Characteristic of Monvigliero soil, this vineyard is rich with sand and limestone, also containing clay throughout the plot. Well in equilibrium, this soil proves to be highly suitable for producing high-end red wines.
