Piemonte Escape

An entire week in Piedmont, to fully grasp the essence of the region, capturing the different seasonal nuances, while staying at the Scarpa Villas. Nestled in the heart of Monvigliero vineyard, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Barolo wine region, the villas offer a wide range of opportunities to enjoy food, wine and culture, or simply to relax in the countryside while enjoying unique wine panoramas.

PROGRAMME

Day 1 - On arrival you will be greeted by our hospitality team who will escort you to your villa where a welcome aperitif will be served in the comfort of your living room with a mixed cheese and charcuterie board, the precious hazelnuts from our fields, grissini and a bottle of Scarpa wine from our selection.

Day 2 - Full day programme, Signature Wine Tour

Accompanied by your qualified sommelier you will discover the unique panoramas of the selected wine region, fascinating corners of Piemonte where vineyards extend as far as the eye can see.

Our morning will be dedicated to discovering the complex world of Langhe or Roero viticulture with a stop in a vineyard where winemakers make most of their efforts to enhance the properties of one of the most precious indigenous grapes: Nebbiolo

We will visit a niche cellar and taste a selection of wines for a fascinating introduction to the typologies of wines produced in the area, including the world-famous Barolo or Barbaresco or Roero according to the selected area. We will then head to a nice local restaurant where you will get the opportunity to taste some of the traditional signature dishes of Langhe whilst enjoying the panoramas.

During the afternoon we will dive deeper into the secrets of the success of Nebbiolo grape, discovering some of the quaint villages where history, nature and a tight community have played their role to develop and protect a UNESCO world heritage jem.

We will visit a second winery and taste a selection of wines to better understand how terroir is influencing the profile of Barolo, Barbaresco or Reoro according to where vineyards are located, discovering the fascinating map of the crus.

Day 3 - Free Day with e-bike at your disposal

Explore the surroundings with our e-bikes for a more active day. Wandering through the UNESCO hills of the Barolo wine region is a wonderful way to breathe the peace of nature.

Day 4 - Full day programme, Turin

A day at the elegant first capital of Italy, enjoying its peculiar baroque architecture (“barocco piemontese”) and the monumental arcaded squares in the city centre. Home to vermouth and a vast chocolate tradition, the city is rich with sumptuous palaces recalling the long-lasting Savoy dynasty, such as the ones of the famous “corona di delizie” (Crown of Delights).

Full day guided tour through the historical centre, including a guided tour of Palazzo Reale (the Royal Palace) and a light lunch in the city.

Day 5 - Half day programme

You will enjoy a nice walk through the natural woods of Langhe for a fun and educational truffle hunting experience with a local hunter who will unveil the secrets of truffle, its ecosystem and the training of his precious dog. Free afternoon for your own exploration or chill out at the premises.

Day 6 - Half day programme

Your personal driver will meet you early in the afternoon for a transfer to Scarpa winery. Starting its activity in 1900, the estate mirrors the history and evolution of Piedmont's prestigious wines, from its beginnings to the present day. After a tour of the premises, you will enjoy a tasting of the best selections, personally guided by one of Scarpa's ambassadors.

Afterwards, back to the villas for a dinner with your private chef.

Day 7 - Full day programme (cheese and hazelnut experience)

Langhe is not just wine, today, along with your personal food expert we will explore a wilder area of our beautiful Piemonte and visit a “off the beaten paths” cheese maker immersed in a remote corner of paradise among the hills of Alta Langa. After a light lunch with a full selection of different cheeses we will head to a hazelnut laboratory and discover the sweetest side of Piemonte with a guided visit and yummy tasting.

A driver will be available for you all day long.

Day 8 - Check out
